When selecting a DIP switch, engineers should check the number of positions, mounting type, pitch, actuator design, electrical rating, PCB footprint, and switching life. Through-hole and SMD versions are available for different PCB assembly requirements.
DIP switches are generally used for low-power configuration and signal switching rather than high-current loads. Choosing the correct switch according to the PCB design and application helps ensure reliable operation during production and long-term use.
